About Us
- The PMR group spans the University of Edinburgh divisions of Psychiatry, Oncology, Clinical Neurosciences, Primary Care and Medical Statistics.
- It links two University Research Centres: Clinical Brain Sciences and Edinburgh Cancer Research Centre.
- It is also part of the Edinburgh Clinical Trials collaboration and houses the administration of both the Scottish Mental Health Research Network and the NCRI COMPASS Supportive and Palliative Care Collaborative
- The research group is housed on multiple sites within the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian with the main bases being the 8th Floor of the Kennedy Tower at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, Morningside and the 1st Floor of the Cancer Research Centre at the Western General Hospital in North Edinburgh.
- Our major funders are Cancer Research UK, the UK Medical Research Council and the Scottish Chief Scientist Office. There are approximately thirty full time academic and support staff and an active research budget of approximately £10M.
- We teach ‘Psychological Medicine’ as a vertical theme throughout the Edinburgh Medical School Undergraduate Curriculum
